BERLIN, Oct 9 (Reuters) – Germany wants to continue to be "strongly \u200crepresented" in the European Central \u200cBank's governing bodies in the future, German \u200bFinance Minister Lars Klingbeil said on Friday in Luxembourg on the sidelines of a finance ministers meeting. <\/p>\n
"I \u200cam coordinating \u2060closely with the Federal Chancellery on all issues concerning \u2060the ECB, and of course, we will put forward a German \u200bcandidate," Klingbeil \u200bsaid. <\/p>\n
Euro zone \u200bfinance ministers on \u200cThursday started a process to replace European Central Bank board member Isabel Schnabel, who will leave the ECB on January 3 to \u200ctake up a \u200bpost at the International \u200bMonetary \u200bFund. <\/p>\n
"In the bilateral discussions here, \u200cI have noticed that \u200bevery \u200bcolleague is very clear that Germany plays a role at the \u200bECB," \u200cKlingbeil added. <\/p>\n
